So Alone: A Tribute To Johnny Thunders (The New York Dolls, The Heartbreakers)

I was asked to play drums for this and some of you may be interested in seeing this.

Stages Theatre in Orange County produced an original musical called "So Alone" in 1995 that was a tribute to the late 70's punk icon Johnny Thunders. It was re-produced in 2000 and 2005 and has become a "local legend" as I was told before signing on. For the 15th anniversary I am taking part in a "reunion concert" featuring just the music from the play - no acting. It will run around 1 hour 45 minutes with 26 songs and two bands representing the New York Dolls and the Heartbreakers (not to be confused with the Tom Petty group). It's been described as a lesson in "punk rock 101" and I can tell you from the rehearsals so far that this is going to be some down & dirty rock and roll.

I never really listened to the New York Dolls before this and I'm blown away. The Johnny Thunders stuff is great as well. Check out some clips if you aren't familiar and maybe some of you will come check out the show. (Note: Tickets are on sale now and supposedly this will sell out; I'd believe it based on the size of the theatre.)

The pricing is inaccurate, I believe. As far as I know tickets are $12 and $10.
