This show could end up being Lost 2 if the rest of the season is this good.

I haven't been too too impressed with this episode. BUT i realize they have to introduce the characters and such.

The set up reminded me of that old show british show on Nick about kids who were kind of aliens and started getting stalked by the gov only totally different.

alex mac is roomates with a girl i went to high school with. shes still hot.

HaveFunDying
09-26-2006, 01:24 AM
Alex Mac was also the hot sister in 10 things a I hate about you, right? Or do I just wish that was true?

Either way, the show was killer.

Other killer Nick shows:

Are You Afraid the Dark?
Legends of the Hidden Temple
Pete & Pete
Salute You're Shorts
My Brother and Me (so bad it was awesome)
GUTS

As far as "kid sitcoms" go, I'd have to say Disney's "Even Stevens" pretty much owns all.

This was one of the best pilots I've ever seen. Great concept, gotta love origin stories. Hopefully it doesn't end up on the shelf halfway through the season.

Both true. Shia LaBeouf in Bobby was awesome.

Oh man I loved muppet babies as a kid!!! It always cracked me up when they'd open a door and there'd be a train coming at them or Darth Vader or something hahah.

Anyway, back to Heroes, I was looking foward to this and really liked the first episode and then they had the promo for next weeks and I got that Lost kind of feeling.. gotta see what happens next!!!!

I can't wait to see how all these people and stories converge. Shit looks cool as.

Muppet Babies started when I was a kid homie. Just cause shit was still in reruns when you were pumped out in the mid 90's doesn't mean it was new. FUCKER!

Then to be even more honest, I watch Rugrats WAYYYYY more than Muppet Babies.

But serously guys, keep an eye out for these shows.

I found some of my old Nick Magazine issues from 1994 at my grandma's and they had a blurb on this as a new show at the time. How many episodes did this even last? I don't remember it at all and Nick was about as pertinent to my childhood as chocolate milk.

God, Are You Afraid of the Dark? was so incredible. The episode where the girl kept lapsing into the `70s and eventually had to stop some chemistry accident was so good. Mostly because of my fondness for that decade at the time and how goddamn fine hippie girls are.

Face it guys, this show is lame.

Things that are lame:

The Bad Guy - Give me a break. He looks like a fucking English professor
The Painter Guy - Drugs are awesome.
The Cheerleader Chick - Pretty much just sucks ass.
The Skeptical Son of the Author - This guys just drips cheese.
The Flying Guy - Clearly a homosexual even though he boned the painter dude's girl.
The Ending to Episode 3 - "Hey, boss! Check out this show called Lost! They have cuh-razy trick endings that make no sense! We should do that!
The Killer Prostitute - I don't know what's lamer - the woman or her stupid reflection.
The Acting - Fucked.
The Shitty Comic Book fonts - Shitty.
Hiro's Face - The only thing that's certain for him is hemorrhoids.
Token Black Guy - Of course, he's evil.

God damn my girlfriend for making me watch this shit.

I never watched this because I don't quite care for super hero type shows/movies/comics whatever.

But that new one Dexter on showtime is fucking awesome.

Finally a show about a serial killer. I also think its obvious that somewhere at some point, Dexter him self will be revealed to be the Fridge Truck Killer.

right now they are filming an episode of Heroes right next to my loft in downtown LA. I live on the second floor and saw the cop and the stripper about 25 feet below me. I could have dropped my Asahi on them if I wanted, but I like the show and didn't want to.

Its cool how much it bites other superhero/ sci fi stuff, but is rad none-the-less

I like the idea of drug-induced super-powers. Anyone know of any comic material using the same?

I don't think they're drug-induced though. Isaac can only tap into his powers of foresight through shooting up because he hasn't developed his abilities fully yet, but Peter was able to mimic Isaac's powers just by being in his presence despite the fact that neither individual was on drugs.

Christopher
10-23-2006, 08:45 PM
well I mean they're drug induced in the sense that he just can't get in the right frame of mind. It's not the drugs that creates the powers, but the guy can't take his mind to that spot that it needs to be to trigger the futuresight.

I cannot stop watching this show. It's so fucking good. What do you all think of the "exploding man"? I think it's Sylar getting too much DNA and powers. Also, did anyone else hear the clock ticking while Sylar was in custody? I think it resembles him being a ticking time bomb.
