That's a bad sign. I don't think you can force yourself to like something. Besides, not liking the new Muse isn't a crime.

I know. I'm a huge fan of their first 3 CD's though, and I just can't shake the feeling that maybe I'm not getting the picture, and this CD is really good.

The songs they played off it live tonight sounded good, but really just paled in comparison to the ones they played from the older records (except for "Starlight" and "Knights Of Cydonia," both of which sounded MASSIVE).

Those are 2 of the 4 songs on the record I actually like ("supermassive blackhole" and whatever track 9 is being the others). Do they still play anything off of their first record?

I don't have Showbiz, so I can't be 100% sure on song names, but they did introduce one song as "from our first album" and played another one that was slower and more piano-driven that I didn't recognize, either (and I have the B-sides record, too). So I'm guessing that was also from the first record.

Outside of that aforementioned piano song, though, they barely even touched the more balladesque moments of their catalog -- the show was straight-up rock from start to finish. It was brutal how loud they were, and so fucking tight, too! Probably the best rhythm section in rock.
