This went from being one of my favorite websites to one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen.

haha, it's seriously so creepy. Some things I don't need to know.

SRSLY!

it's way too busy and provides far too many details that people would want to share/want to read about.

i've already joined the New Facebook Sucks! group.

i completely agree with above sentiments. totally unnecessary by all means.

I dunno, I kind of like it in a strange way...except that other people can see everything I do

monsterriffs

Like this, for example:

Out of curiosity, how many MUPers are on Facebook? Perhaps we need a facebook group of our own...which would serve no purpose other than to show people that we're nerds.

MikeM

I'm on facebook too and I totally hate this shit

Not only is it really cluttering and distracting, but it brings the stalkerism to a whole new level that makes myspace jealous. Also, who gives two fucks about every little miniscule detail and change on a facebook profile? Fuck this.

Annoyed and utterly outraged,

I'll send you guys friend requests, but I don't join groups out of principle. Too many, "Hey Kelly.... Bananas!!! LOL" type groups. I think it's a dumb feature.

Totally joined the MUP group.

As for new Facebook, yeah, I think it's unnecessary, stupid, and maybe even a little creepy, but I'm also bothered by how incensed people are getting over it. It's just Facebook. Its importance is absolutely miniscule. However, they really should have an option to turn all that crap off.

I think it's REALLY funny that people are actually pissed. This is an actual quote from one of the larger "Anti-New Facebook" groups:

Until this feature is removed or changed to protect my privacy, I WILL NOT update my profile, and I hope you will too.

OH NO! Heaven forbid a profile goes unmaintained for a week! The matrix will be rebooted!

Without knowing the latest status changes and additions to all my friends favorite movies, I am nothing. You stick it to 'em, Joe P. Dissenter.

You gotta keep in mind, Facebook is something that a lot people check 10 - 20 times a day. I think people are more addicted to this than Myspace. Having such a drastically bad change on something you use frequently is annoying. I'm willing to bet they have an option to turn of the feeds by the end of the month.

On the plus-side, Facebook doesn't have an abundance of fifteen year old "scene" girls with annoying monroe piercings.

Still, I'll definitely take the 'Space over the 'Book anyday.

PS: nw pcs cmnt plz!!!!

as for the above, SRSLY.

Is that the actual name for those? I hate them regardless.

Nipple piercings are even more annoying. They do nothing for me visually, and all I can think about is how many dudes have probably been on these same boobs.

And don't even get me started on any piercings "below the equator." I've only encountered it once, and the second I did I got the fuck out.

Christopher

yeah nipple piercings are cheesy (if piercings can actually be cheesy, that is)

I've had friends get monroe piercings a few times... I'm not afraid to let them that they look hideous on them. It made one of my friends cry.

She was bummed.

I wonder if they are going to change it back to the old way. I don't care personally, I update stuff so people will know stuff about me, it's not like this is my diary and it's not like I want people to check my profile all the time to see if stuff changed. But I guess some people think this is the Facebook Patriot Act, I just wonder if Mark Zuckerberg is more democratic than the current administration. But seriously people, calm down.

From that Washington Post article:

Still, for George Washington senior Justin Persuitti, the mere prospect of unexpected disclosure made him conjure up unsettling scenarios: "You could have a girlfriend and be at a bar kissing another girl, and somebody could post [a cellphone photo] on your wall."

Priceless, I wonder if this guy was serious.

what a douchebag, I hope no girl ever dates him, unless they're into infidelity or something.

Then why would they care if he's kissing another girl and why would he care if someone is posting pictures of him doing it on Facebook?
