I hear 3 or 4 punk sites are going to make Mods Under Protest their message board soon.

I hear that Mods Under Protest is the message board of choice for celebrity punks to post on.

christopher once confided in the board that his girlfriend really wanted some assplay. hilarity ensued.

Is there some symbolic meaning behind the name? Or does it mean different things to different people just like Dashboard Confessional lyrics?

Also did it start simultaneously as the message board for punkrocks and pastepunk?

MUP was the name created when we split off from a board run in conjunction with like 3-4 other zines that i don't really remember over some stuff that i don't think i'm even totally aware of. either way, several if not all of the sites we peaced out on are/were very crazy and weird and there was some beef, which like i said, seemed to be kinda kept behind closed doors. pastepunk and punkrocks were always associated with both boards.

Did every current poster get directed here from PR or Pastepunk (or referred by someone who had originally came here from those sites)?

This sounds very much like the great schism in the early church, which resulted in the Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches separated. I would love to know the juicy details of the split.

a lot of people are friends of current posters but i think the CORE (moshing) came from those two sites.

i think the split had a lot to do with the way the forum was set up and whether or not certain posters would be allowed to continue posting. something like that. there may have been more zine related stuff going on but i had nothing to do with that.

yeah Tim punk int'l got me to post on here. At the time it was really only tim, lalo and I doing reviews and posting news on that site I think. We even had a short lived joint message board with Europunk that was not very popular.

Naturally, the split was predicated on some old board people wanting to censor/ban/etc. posters for the horrible offense of being weenies. We said no thank you to that, we don't need your overly PC shenanigans, and went on our merry way.
